Who supplies Long Edition
Long Edition is supplied and published by CodeMagician Ltd (company number 17363646), registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at C/O SAFS Ltd, 9 Freeman Way, Ashington, Northumberland, NE63 0YB. Company correspondence may be sent to account@codemagician.co.uk. Product questions, complaints, cancellations and support requests can be sent to support@longedition.com.
Who may use the service
The initial public service is for consumers aged 18 or over in the United Kingdom. By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18. Do not create an account for another person or share your sign-in details.
Your account
Give accurate information, keep your password and account links secure, and tell us promptly if you believe somebody else has used your account. We may apply proportionate limits or suspend an account while investigating misuse, fraud or a security risk.
Commissioned editions
You choose a question, an edition length and a narrator. Long Edition researches, writes, checks and records a personal audio documentary. A successful commission is stored privately in your library with its transcript, sources and production record. Completion times are estimates, not guarantees.
AI-assisted research and narration
The service uses artificial intelligence and external information sources. A programme may contain errors, omissions, disputed interpretations or sources that later change. Citations and qualifications help you inspect the work but do not make it infallible. Long Edition is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, safety-critical or other regulated advice.
Your prompt and acceptable use
You keep rights in text you submit and give us a limited permission to process it to provide, secure and support the service. You must have the right to submit it. Do not request unlawful content, invade another person's privacy, impersonate someone, target a private person with unsupported allegations, probe security, bypass payment or usage controls, or automate abusive traffic.
Keeping and using your edition
A completed edition belongs to your account and may be streamed and downloaded for your personal, non-commercial use. This access is not a subscription and is not withdrawn merely because you stop commissioning new work. Choosing to delete a completed edition removes it from your live library but does not itself reverse the production or create an automatic refund. Access may also be restricted where necessary to comply with law, protect another person's rights, address a serious factual or safety issue, or respond to a security incident. Facts, third-party material and non-exclusive AI output are not made exclusive to you.
Prices, Edition Credits and payment
The current one-off pack contains ten Edition Credits and costs £39.99. A Story-led Quick Edition uses one credit and a Story-led Long Edition uses two. The consumer price shown before checkout is the total payable and includes any tax applicable at the time; we do not add an undisclosed tax or mandatory fee at the payment step. Credits are service units, not money or stored value, and cannot be transferred or exchanged for cash. The required credits are reserved when paid-capable production is queued and consumed only when the edition is successfully published. Automatic retry, recovery or operator resume continues under the same reservation and cannot consume a second credit. A terminal production failure releases the reservation. Optional artwork does not use another credit and cannot prevent an otherwise complete audio edition from being published. Payments are one-off unless a future checkout explicitly says otherwise.
Cooling-off, cancellations, faults and refunds
Your statutory consumer rights are not affected. You may ask to cancel a wholly unused Edition Credit pack within 14 days of purchase by emailing support@longedition.com or using the model wording on the refunds page. You do not need to give a reason. If you expressly ask us to begin a commission during that period, a refund may be reduced by the proportionate value of services already supplied, and the cancellation right may end when the commissioned digital service has been fully supplied after the acknowledgement required by law. While a commission is still queued and no provider work has begun, you can cancel it and its reserved Edition Credits are returned. Once immediate production has materially begun, that self-service cancellation is unavailable, but support can stop or remedy a commission where your rights, fairness or a provider failure require it. If an edition is faulty, unavailable or not as described, contact support@longedition.com. We will consider repair or replacement first where that is appropriate and may provide a full or partial price reduction where your rights or an agreed settlement require it. A partial cash refund is assessed on its circumstances rather than converted mechanically into a fraction of an Edition Credit. Support records any treatment of unused credits from the affected purchase; used or reserved credits are not silently removed, and existing completed programmes are not deleted because of a refund. A reasonable editorial judgement or an answer you simply dislike is not automatically a fault, but a failed commission does not consume its entitlement.
Availability and changes
We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, internet failure, source websites and AI, speech, email or payment providers can interrupt features. We may change the service for legal, security, cost or product reasons while respecting completed purchases and mandatory consumer rights.
Our responsibility
We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for unforeseeable loss, business loss arising from consumer use, or events outside our reasonable control where reasonable steps were taken. Nothing excludes liability where exclusion would be unlawful, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or mandatory consumer rights.
Ending an account
You may stop using the service and request account deletion. We may end an account for serious or repeated breach, unlawful use or an unmanageable security risk. Deletion removes live personal programme data subject to the retention and backup qualifications in the privacy notice; records that law requires us to retain are restricted rather than erased prematurely.
Changes, law and complaints
The published page shows the effective version. Material changes will be brought to existing customers' attention and may require fresh acceptance before continued commissioning. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, while consumers elsewhere in the UK retain applicable mandatory protections and access to their local courts. Please contact support@longedition.com first so we can try to resolve a complaint promptly.
